Self-Portraits by Incarcerated
Men and Women in the San Francisco City Jail
A collaboration with the 5 Keys Charter School
and the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department.
Sometimes self-portraits help us to discover something new about ourselves. Artist Pilar Olabarria asked students in the San Francisco Jail to make three self-portraits, they made: A portrait of themself during their incarceration, a portrait of who they are in their heart and a self-portrait that describes dreams for the future.
